Face lift continues

The Flamingo is continuing with their face lift. Most of the balconies are completed and cabanas are being built in the South Tower pool area. They fixed up the space above the pool area with nice lounges, great tiles and definitely feels like a resort style living.

My hallway has been completed and new carpeting, paint, wall paper and accent decorations are completed. The only thing left are replacing the apartment doors and taking away the drop down ceiling near the elevators and replacing them with different lighting and wood accents. See the 11th floor for how all floors will look.

Renovations continue

I'm pleased to announce that renovations are proceeding ahead. Not necessarily the quickest, but at least there is some slow momentum. Hallways have been painted and not just need new carpeting and doors. Also the hallway renovations outside of the elevators still need to be completed.

Balconies are being installed. All the balconies facing the pool have been completed. The apartments facing the city have been started and appear to be half completed. The only pending section to be started/completed are the apartments facing the courtyard.

Concierge desk has finally been installed in the south tower and staffed by various concierges. They all seem to be nice and attentive. It was nice to see one of the concierge staff stop a kid from being "destructive" and hopefully over time this behaviour will lessen.

North Tower Now on Sale

The North tower just went on sale today, February 9th, 2007. Hopefully the sales will go well and the pricing appears to be higher than the south tower. Could it be the market isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is.

Largest Condo Conversion in history

If all goes as planned and MCZ/Centrum converts the 3 Flamingo towers this will be the largest condo conversion (I believe in the United States). With the real estate market in its current downward spiral the developer may decide not to proceed with the purchase and conversion of all the towers. They made a non-refundable $5 million payment so if they don't purchase the other towers they will lose it. To my knowledge they’ve already purchased the North Tower.

The 3 towers sit on 16 acres of bay front property...something that doesn't exist anywhere else in Miami. It has amazing views of downtown Miami and within walking distance of Lincoln Road.

The GOOD!!!

Let me start off with the good stuff…cause after this it all goes downhill. All of the “good” stuff is listed on the flamingo Miami website, but I’m here to tell you they’re accurate. In no particular order here’s the list:

  • AMAZING views of downtown Miami
  • Beautiful common grounds and courtyard. After the proposed renovations of these areas it will be even more spectacular.
  • Great pools
  • Beach Volleyball court
  • Basketball court
  • Pet friendly building
  • Bayside marina
  • 10,000 sf health club overlooking the bay and Miami. If you like cardio…they have lots!!

If you get your apartment renovated the tiles are just beautiful. They’re durable and very appealing. The building is definitely pet friendly and often you will find the courtyard with owners and their pets socializing. Definitely an environment to be in if you’re a pet owner.

As mentioned earlier this building offers things no other apartment complex can offer. Some buildings can offer some of the amenities and features, but not all of them. Flamingo truly is unique and I fell in love with it the moment I walked around the complex.
